About the Role

Ranikhet Academy is a successful primary school and we are currently seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide help and support to our amazing children. The Learning Support Assistant role is vital to the school and involves supporting children with a variety of needs.  

 In particular, successful applicants should have: 

  • At least one years experience of working with children in the primary age range 
  • Experience of working with children in a friendly, busy environment 
  • An understanding of children with SEN needs 
  • Level 2 qualification in play work/childcare  
  • A current food hygiene certificate (desirable) 
  • Paediatric first aid qualification (desirable) 
  • Knowledge of child safeguarding procedures 

You should: 

  • Have excellent communication skills 
  • Have the ability to build effective relationships with students, parents and other staff 
  • The ability to relate in a firm and friendly way with a wide range of personalities 
  • The ability to use initiative 
  • Be willing to undertake direction and guidance 
  • Have a good understanding of behaviour management strategies 
  • Be able to work as part of a team

Ranikhet Academy belongs to the staff, the children and the community. We are a one form entry Primary School. We have an inclusive culture where we celebrate our diverse community. We have 3 school rules – Be Ready, Be Respectful and Be Safe. All our children, staff and families follow these 3 rules so that we have an inclusive learning environment where we all feel Proud to Belong. 

Our school sits in the heart of a community. We warmly welcome visits from members of our local community to build relationships, support local causes and encourage our children to have high aspirations. Parent and pupil voice is incredibly important to us and feedback we get from children, parents and community directly influences our practice. 

Our children experience a rich curriculum with excellent teaching and learning. Classrooms are inclusive and we have high expectations of all children. We plan the curriculum that our children need which includes key learning experiences and collaborative projects inside and outside the classroom.
